| The Sate Siberian Russian Folk Chorus was
founded in 1945. Its art-adviser Vvacheslav Mochalov, one of the
leading experts in popular creative work, is the People's Artist of Russia and a composer.
After a long creative career the Siberian Chorus, one of
the first professional folk ensembles in Russia, is largely enjoying popularity both at
home and abroad. Using rich creative legacy of the distant past the company not only
creates vivid choral, dance and musical compositions, such as "Rolling The
Ring", "Siberian Winter", "Evening Party", "Siberian
Mountain-Footer" - a true masterpiece of the Chorus - and others, but also arranges
and performs old songs, dances, instrumental variations and festive games. Customarily
characteristic of the Chorus is a rich variety of its sound along with a deep penelration into the conception of ancient Siberian epic songs and
ballads, intimate lyricism of the female group, full-blooded sonority- of
men's vocals in songs praising the beauty of Siberian land, spirited
performance of lively Siberian dances, vocal, choreographic and orchestral compositions.
All this cannot leave the spectators unmoved, no matter where the State Siberian Russian
Folk Chorus performs.
For its creative attainment the Chorus was rewarded gold medals and honorary
diplomas both in Russia and abroad. It is a prize- winner of the World Folklore Festival.
The Chorus has toured towns and cities in France, Germany, China,
Korea and other countries.
Many renowned composers and musicians have repeatedly commended a high level of
the Siberian Chorus' artistic mastery. Here are just a few of their statements.
At the moment the Chorus is in a first-rate creative form. It has been assigned
the title of Academic Chorus. |
